How it works

Collagen induction therapy, also called Microneedling, increases the amount of collagen in your skin creating a younger, fresher looking appearance. By causing tiny “micro-injuries” to the skin, it creates channels that allow topical products to be absorbed more effectively and stimulates your body’s collagen production. Microneedling treatments can help reduce fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, pore size and hyperpigmentation or discoloration.

There are also some downsides to keep in mind:

Healing time. It may take a few days or as long as a week for healing depending on how your skin reacts and the depth of needling. Collagen induction takes time to notice a difference, because your body is healing itself. Most people need a few treatments before they see any change. Minor discomfort immediately following your treatment may occur and your skin may be red for a few days. Your skin may feel tight and flake a bit while it heals. Always protect your skin by using sunscreen and avoid make-up for 24 hours.
